The AVP range of transmitters broadcast a single VGA video source with audio or power to 2, 4 or 8 receivers over Cat5 UTP cable up to 300m.
The AVP range is so called because it can either transmit Audio + Video or Video + Power to the receiver. This offers additional flexibility when planning a Digital Signage installation.
Individual transmitters may be daisy chained using the Local VGA output to increase the number of outputs. This ensures that output channels are not wasted and optimizes the number of transmitters required.
The CatX AV receivers are part of the CatX AVP range and will output to a VGA display device + Stereo speakers .
The optimum location for any display device can often be less than 150m from the media player source. For this reason the CatX AVP range has both a long distance (300m) and a medium distance (up to 150m) receiver option.
Additional technology is required for the longer distance receiver to eliminate the effects of Skew that can occur over longer lengths of cat5/6 UTP cable. This feature has a higher cost, which is why we offer the medium range receivers without skew correction, which may not be required in your installation.

The CatX Repeaters can be used to increase the number of Cat5 UTP connections up to 150m from any CatX transmitter/receiver in the CatX AVP Range or to a CatX Mini Tx transmitter. In effect, CatX AVP Repeaters are Cat5 splitters. AVP Repeaters can re-transmit the input signal up to 300m from each output, depending on the type of CatX receiver that is used. These Repeaters provide additional outputs where it may not be practical or desirable to increase the number of outputs at the transmitter source.
CatX AV Rx2 and CatXQ AV Rx2 receivers also have a repeater function. Both CatX AV Rx2 and CatXQ AV Rx2 receivers can re-transmit an input signal up to 300m from the output.
