Composite Video is still widely used to broadcast TV quality images. Composite is normally distributed using Co-Axial cable. SY Electronics has designed a complimentary Cat5 extender product for Composite video.

The nature of Composite Video also means that good quality video displays can be maintained over much longer lengths of Cat5/6 cable. In the case of the CatX Composite range, this means up to 600m. It also means that these units are even more cost effective compared with the CatX VGA and KVM extender range.

This makes uses Cat5/6 UTP cable, which is cheaper and easier to install than Co-axial cable. These products can also, therefore, make use of existing structured network cabling in the same way as our range of VGA extenders and KVM extenders.

CatX Composite Tx4

CatX Composite Tx 4 Front

CatX Composite Tx4 transmits a single composite video and audio signal to four cat5 outputs, use in conjunction with either the CatX Composite Lite Rx (150m) or the CatX Composite Rx (600m).

CatX Composite Lite Rx (150m)

CatX Composite Lite Rx Front

CatX Composite Lite Rx receives a single composite video and audio signal over cat5 cable from the CatX Composite Tx4 transmitter. CatX Composite Lite Rx takes its power directly by the Composite Tx4 transmitter, requiring no external PSU.
