The Classic range of CatX VGA extenders was the first group of products designed by SY Electronics to address the digital signage market.
The Classic CatX range was the first in the market to address the need for both medium (up to 150m) and long (up to 300m) distance extenders based on a common transmitter. This provides total flexibility in the planning and installation of any digital signage network.
The Classic CatX range includes both point-to-point and AV distribution over Cat5 UTP cable. This principle has continued with the new AVP range, making CatX products the professional choice for designers and installers of digital signage networks.
The products in the Classic Range consist of the following groups:

The Classic Range of AV extenders will transmit a single VGA and stereo audio signal over Cat5 cable up to 300m. When used together with any of the Classic Range CatX Video Receiver units, they are an ideal VGA extender solution for broadcasting VGA and audio signals over Cat5 UTP cable.
All the Classic Range transmitters, except the Video Lite transmitter, may also connect to a local monitor and stereo speakers, which can be useful during set up or administration. These transmitters can be cascaded together to increase the number of Cat5 UTP outputs. These VGA extenders provide a very cost effective and flexible VGA extender based solution for Digital Signage networks.

The Classic Range of CatX Video receivers output to a VGA display device and Stereo speakers.
The location of the display device can often be less than 150m from the media player source but longer distances are possible. For this reason, the CatX range has both medium distance (150m) and long distance (300m) receiver options.
The longer distance receiver employs additional technology to eliminate the effects of cable skew that can occur over longer lengths of Cat5 UTP cable. This feature comes at a higher cost, which is why we offer the medium range receivers without skew correction.

The CatX range includes serial data and VGA video over Cat5 UTP cable, called the CatX Data range.
These products enable the control of either a VGA touch screen display or any other RS232 device via a serial interface. The CatX Data range has both medium distance (up to 150m) and long distance receivers (up to 300m) based on a common transmitter, providing total flexibility in the planning and installation of any digital signage network.
