Using CatX KVM Extenders in your Data Centre

Keyboard, Video and Mouse extenders enable users to remotely access and control a server or PC. Connecting a CatX KVM extender to any brand of KVM Switch allows remote access to multiple servers or PCs. This offers numerous time and cost benefits due to the reduction in the number of devices used to access computers.

Save space
By accessing both your local computer as well as a remote computer or KVM switch, a CatX KVM extender offers complete control of one or many PCs / servers.
Save Money and Reduce Costs
CatX KVM extenders are cost effective solutions because they offer comparable performance expected in many of the more expensive brands.
Save Time and Increase Security
Remote management solutions provide a direct connection and real-time access to remote PCs or servers up to 300m away, so users can work from their desk without having to walk into the data centre. CatX KVM extenders offer good security because they are completely separate from any data network.

Our entry-level product, CatX KVM, is a console only extender that is ideal in environments where workstation PCs need to be in a secure location, physically separated from the user.

A more advanced product is the CatX Universal Tx2, which has a local console and two Cat5 outputs. This allows access to the PC or server from the local console or any of two different control points that can each be up to 150m or 300m apart depending on the choice of receiver.

Receiver options for the Universal Tx2 include the CatX Console Rx (150m), the CatXQ Console Rx (300m) and the CatXQ Supervisor Rx (300m). Each of which are a remote console receiver that include option for a local PC or KVM switch as standard.
