KVM Extender Case Study
When a major internet securitycompany refurbished one of their European headquarters, it included a complete upgrade of the structured cabling network. Whilst this was good for the overall network infrastructure, it had an unforeseen effect on the existing installation of various manufacturers KVM extenders.
The new structured cabling introduced a significant skew effect. The cost of replacing all the available extenders would have been a costly excercise.
S,Y. Electronics were able to offer a stand alone Skew correction system, Skew 62. This product can work with any brand of extender, because it connects directly to the VGA connector at any part of the system.
This was cost effective and represented a major saving.
As a result of installing Skew 62, the company also installed a variety of short range (CatX Console Rx) KVM extender as well as the 300m receiver (CatXQ Console Rx). The 300m KVM receiver also includes the same technology as the Skew 62.
